Despite agriculture being the heartbeat of regional communities, a recent survey showed that almost half (42%) of farmers report lower profits but 70% higher operating costs.
Mental health is a huge issue, with data from the National Rural Health Alliance studies showing the average suicide rate among Australian farmers is about 59 per cent higher than the general population.
This is equivalent to one farmer taking their own life every ten days.
Farmers Support Union is partnering with charities and businesses to support Australian farmers, raising funds to provide financial and practical support and assistance.
This will be donated to farmers, their families, and communities in need, ensuring a bright future and enduring legacy for Australian farmers.

Labour is also an issue. Nine out of 10 farmers need help finding workers post-pandemic, and there is a shortage of 172,000 workers in the agricultural sector.
Without workers, the amount of food being grown and distributed is reducing as farmers need help to keep up with demand.
